Manood. Makinig. Babalik na ang OMNIBUS, dala ang mga kwentong alamat na ‘di mo dapat palampasin!
Omnibus: Tuloy Sa Simula
June 2–6, 2025
De La Salle University–Manila
OMNIBUS, the flagship event of DLSU’s Green Media Group (GMG), is a cross-media exhibit and festival open for the Lasallian community and art enthusiasts. This academic year, the event will revolve around the theme/title “Tuloy sa Simula,” touching base on legacies and legends, bringing light to the origins of Filipino Culture and Filipino Psyche— “Tangkilikin ang sining pampilipino at gawang Pilipino”

This year's OMNIBUS isn't just about storytelling in the present; it’s about creating a bridge—connecting the past, the present, and the future. From myths to speculative fiction, from ancient folklore to the stories that have yet to be written, we want to explore the enduring power of Philippine narratives and how they still shape who we are as a people.

Mang Pepe and his family travel from Quezon City to Bicol on pedicabs ("sikad-sikad"). Mang Pepe and his wife, Remedios, their daughter Pina, their son JP with his pregnant blind wife Isabel, and their dog Kikay, live together in a shanty at a Quezon City slum. To survive daily, Mang Pepe drives his pedicab and carry various loads to the market while Aling Remedios washes laundry for her neighbors. JP and Pina both try to earn a living and Isabel, in her blindness, sees and converses with Jesus Christ. Realizing their futile life in the city, Mang Pepe convinces the family to go back to their hometown in Bicol. Without enough transport money, they decide to use pedicans so they could "pedal" their way back to the province. Ari: My Life With A King

It takes place in the shadow of Mt. Pinatubo and then makes the case that in the wake of the devastation, a generation has grown with little connection to Pampanga's native culture. Jaypee is a teenager who doesn't even know that the gray dust that his motorcycle is having trouble getting through is the legacy of that eruption. He speaks Tagalog, even though the king only talks to him in Kapampangan. In the film, distances are everything, whether personal or geographical. Everyone is getting farther away from each other.

EMIR is the biggest original Filipino musical written for the screen. It tells the story of Amelia, a Filipina from Ilocos who decides to work abroad to help her family. She takes care of a future crown prince - Ahmed, the Sheik's son - rearing him, and in the process, introducing the young boy to the culture, values, and language of the Philippines. More than a nanny, Amelia acts as Ahmeds surrogate mother and is even willing to offer her life to ensure his safety. Her journey reveals, through words and music, the life that overseas Filipino workers live -- their struggles to have a better life... their dreams, and the hope that someday their hard work will finally be rewarded.
